Secrets

8 Things I'm keeping from Mama:

1) Sometimes I'm not laughing with her, I'm laughing at her.

2) I cry because I know she'll pick me up and snuggle.

3) I completely understand that she doesn't want me to push buttons on the receiver and cable box, but its so fun that I do it anyway.

4) I downloaded an app on her Blackberry.

5) I can hold my own bottle and I do it at daycare all the time. Why hold it myself at home if she'll hold it for me?

6) My name is Evie and I have an Orajel problem.

7) I'm thinking my first word will be something other than Mama...just to get to her. Right now I'm trying to decide which first word will annoy her more, kitty or daddy. Kitty...definitely kitty.

8) Mama had peas in her hair for almost an hour today before noticing. I think she's letting herself go.

It's a zoo out there!

Happy 7 month birthday to me! Mom and Dad took me to the zoo for the very first time.

I saw big kitties, monkeys, otters and a komodo dragon.

We even ran into Uncle Jason and Kristin.

Mom and dad pointed out sea lions, polar bears ... and even the elusive family of mullets.

I had a lot of fun, but I conked out right before mama's favorite part!

Sorry giraffes! I'll catch you next time!

Ridiculously good looking

So, Mom and Dad took me to that doctor place again, and I know they think I don't remember this place, but I'm a baby...not stupid. I'm ok with it, because this paper table stuff makes a really cool noise when I crinkle it.

They measured and weighed me again and I'm rocking this 24.5 inch tall, 15.8 lb body.

And there is this other ridiculously good looking baby in the room.

And she keeps smiling at me. I think she wants to be friends.

High Five Friend!

I bit Mama...

And now she keeps talking about something called weaning...

Not sure if I like the sound of that.

Irony & Teeth

Mama taught me the definition of irony today. She put me in this onesie ... clearly a poor choice of outfit.

In my defense, I'm teething. See those two adorable bottom teeth? Yeah, those were no problem at all.

The top ones though...well, if I could talk, I would be saying all those words Mama says in the car and then tells me not to repeat.

Me-Proofing

Sharp edges make Mom and Dad nervous, especially since I tend to be a bit unpredictable these days with where I'm rolling around. (I like to keep them on their toes.)

They decided to baby-proof. I decided to help.

Step 1 : Take a piece of pipe insulation that you can get at your local home improvement store. Mom and Dad got theirs at Lowes and it was only 97 cents per big long strip. They got 3 total. $3 to baby-proof? Sounds like they can afford to spoil me with more toys.

Sorry, back to the baby-proofing.

Step 2: There is already a line split down the tube, so you just need to cut the tube into the size pieces that you need, and then open it at the perforated slit.

Step 3: Position over sharp edges. (See finished baby proofing on entertainment stand in the backround of this picture)

Step 4: Roll around like a wild girl and see if it works.

Whew...so now the house is safe for me.

Wait, what happens when I put my finger in that socket over there? Looks like Mom and Dad have more work to do!

6 Months

So, to "celebrate" my 6 month birthday, Mom forced me to go outside in the blazing heat and take pictures. I wasn't the biggest fan of the idea. 1) The sun was right in my eyes 2) The camera scares me and 3) I was made to wear a baby halter top....really? a halter top for a baby?

As punishment, I made sure that none of the pictures turned out. Oh, and Mom...you really need to work on the front flower bed if you plan to get this house up for sale. I'd help, but I'm just a baby. (I'm going to milk this excuse as loooong as I can!)

It's the claw hand!

Seriously...it's bright out. I'm not going to open my eyes!

And I'm definitely not going to look at the camera.
Because let's face it. I'm still cute.

Dear furry beasts

I just wanted to take this blogging opportunity to give my furry family a message. I love you and I'm sure we'll be close friends when I start dropping food on the ground, but...

It's my house now cat. You used to be daddy's baby. Now I'm the baby.

And dog...you thought you were mama's cuddle buddy. King of the house? Guess who's in charge now? Me!

Oh, and I highly suggest you both stay away from my toys from here on out...I'm getting teeth and any day now I'll be crawling...then, all bets are off.

It's about time

Look at this face. See this? It's my serious baby face...

I'm 6 months and 10 days old now and it's about time that I get my own blog. I'm serious!

People need to know what's going through my head, and apparently, I'm a much better typer than a talker. Plus, mom and dad keep talking about me needing to get a college scholarship and this should help. Blogging is an extracurricular right?

Evie, baby blogger. I like the sound of that. Here goes nothing.
